Help with Relationships
Relationships can be difficult, but they are the heart of who we are.
The Shepherding Team is a team appointed by the Session of Naperville
Presbyterian Church (NPC) to help people have the kind of relationships that
they desire and God desires for them. The Shepherding Team acts as a facilitator
to help people find and utilize all the resources they need, both inside and
outside of Naperville Presbyterian Church, to help in their healing and growth during difficult relational
times.
If you would like to know more about the Shepherding Team and about how we
might help, please contact Mike Cox or
Jim Lutkevich, Elders on the Shepherding Team, or
Jack Kelly, Director of Care and Counseling, at 630-961-0579, Ext. 255.
Reconciliation
Conflict has been usefully defined as "a difference in opinion or purpose
that frustrates someone's goals or desires." By that definition, we may be in
conflict much more often than we would have initially recognized. Whenever our
goals and desires are frustrated, we are likely to be in conflict; with God,
ourselves, and/or with others. Likewise, we are in conflict whenever we
frustrate another's goals or desires. The good news is that, in the Bible, God
has given us directions about how best to reconcile these differences. And the
good news of the gospel in our lives provides the hope and power to
reconcile. Our Reconciliation Ministry is available to help. Through coaching
and assisted peacemaking, we see how these directions could be applied to the conflict(s) in our lives.
