Opportunities to Serve

Classrooms are staffed with a minimum of two teachers.  If you are interested in serving one of these teaching teams, please contact Mimi Larson.  Furthermore, in our early childhood classrooms (Birth through Kindergarten) we ask parents to serve as helpers at least once a quarter.  If you attend Naperville Presbyterian Church regularly, you will be asked to indicate your preferred times.  Contact Alice Shupe.

Sunday Mornings BLAST!

The leadership at Naperville Presbyterian Church is excited to offer BLAST! (Bible Learning And Sharing Together) to you.

  • Nurseries through Pre K children will meet in their regular rooms.
  • K through 3rd Grade will attend worship with their families and will have the option of joining us in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) for BLAST during the sermon time.  Those children that leave the service will dismiss from the MPR except on Communion Sundays (when they will rejoin their families after the sermon).
  • 4th, and 5th grades will attend the entire service with their families.  Children's sermon inserts are available in the Weekly each week.

Book of the Month

Offering Project

The offering project for this school year will be focused on The Seed Company, A Wycliffe Bible Translators affiliate dedicated to creatively networking God's people around the world to translate the Bible into every language for God's glory.

Communicants Class

Each year we offer a Communicants Class for 4th and 5th grade children.  The purpose of this class is to prepare Covenant Children to become communing/non-voting members of NPC as well as to take the Lord's Supper and give them the  opportunity to make a clear public profession of faith in Jesus Christ.  During the class they will be instructed in the basic doctrine of our faith as well as learn the meaning and importance of the sacraments.  We will also discuss the questions that they will be asked in their elder interviews as well as coaching them to be fully devoted to God in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ..

At least one parent should participate in the parents class every week.  Because Naperville Presbyterian Church partners with parents in the spiritual formation of children, we ask that at least one parent of the Communicant Class participant be a member of Naperville Presbyterian Church or actively pursuing membership.

The next communicant class will be during the 2008-2009 school year.  For more information or to sign up, please contact the Children's Ministries Department at Naperville Presbyterian Church.

Children's Ministry Toy Donation

If you are interested in donating new or used toys for the Children’s Ministries department, all toys must be approved by a member of the Children's Ministry staff. If not acceptable, the item can be returned to you as long as you provide us with your name, phone number and items donated. Otherwise, we will pass them on to another church or appropriately dispose of the item. If you have any questions as to the type of toys needed, please contact Children's Ministry.

Safety Information

We ask that NO peanut/nut products come into the building due to the frequency of allergies among children. For a quick reference list, these products DO contain peanuts: cheese flavored Ritz Bits, President’s Choice Vanilla wafers, Granola Bars, Girl Scout Cookies, all Asian foods, all M&M/Mars candy bars, most Hershey candy.

Naperville Presbyterian Church requires that children (5th grade and under) who are placed in the care of the church have one parent on site at all times. If there are any questions, contact the Children’s Ministries office.

Note: Children must be the appropriate age by September 1st in order to attend that class. For example, children must be two by September 1st to attend the Two's Sunday School class for this year. A child must be in 3rd grade by September 1st in order to attend the 3rd grade Sunday School class. If you have questions, please contact the Children’s Ministries office.
