Early Childhood

In order to better meet the needs of the children, classrooms are assigned by birthday. Each class will remain together for the entire school year. This allows us the opportunity to build relationships and maintain continuity. Thank you for your help in this area.

Skippers

The Skippers class is for children who are 18 months and who will not be two years old before September 1. This class will play, have a snack, learn a basic Bible story and do a craft.

Two's and Three's

The Two's and Three's class is for children who are two years old by September 1. This class has a more in depth Bible story, craft and snack.  All activities are designed to reinforce the theme of the Bible story for that day.

Four's and Five's

The Four's and Five's class is for children who are age four by September 1, or five but not yet in Kindergarten. This class has a more in depth Bible story, a more challenging craft and snack.

Staffing

Our Early Childhood Team is dedicated to disciplining and nurturing the youngest members of our congregation. Each classroom will be staffed with at least two adults who love Jesus and children, and who have been approved by Naperville Presbyterian Church. The teachers and assistants have the best interests of the children at heart. Parent helpers will assist teachers and participate with the children.

Parent Helpers

We ask parents who are regular attendees or members of Naperville Presbyterian Church to participate as parent helpers once or twice a quarter. This is a crucial part of our partnership with parents as we both work towards the spiritual nurturing of our children. By participating as a helper, parents get a hands-on look at what their child is learning, as well as seeing how they are responding to spiritual truths and promises.

Well Child Policy

Please help us make our classrooms free of illness. We are aware that the choice whether or not to bring your child is often difficult. Please take a conservative approach. Do not bring your child with any of the following symptoms or illnesses:

  • Runny nose (not clear)
  • Diarrhea or vomiting
  • Impetigo
  • Questionable rashes
  • Pinkeye (Conjunctivitis)
  • Fever within the last 24 hours

Please contact the church office at 630-961-0579 if your child contracts and exposes classes to chicken pox or other similar illnesses so we can notify other parents.

If you child has a specific allergy that we need to be aware of, please contact the Children’s Ministries Office promptly.
