Your child is important to us. We desire not only to care for you child’s physical needs, but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. We are committed to providing a loving atmosphere with responsible, safe and healthy care for children ages birth through 24 months.
The Facilities
Three separate suites of rooms provide age appropriate environments for our children. The Infant Nursery includes a crawler room with rocking chairs, swings, play yards, activity saucers, and soft toys. The Infant Nursery also includes a separate sleeping area
or newborn room. There is also a private area for nursing mothers. The Walkers and Skippers rooms have a play kitchen, puzzles, books, table and assorted toys.
Your First Visit
Please see that your child's diaper bag, bottle, pacifiers, and other personal belongings are labeled. (NPC diaper bag tags are available.) Our rooms are supplied with diapers and baby wipes, but we ask that you
please include these items in the bag you bring for your child as well. When you pack your diaper bag, we suggest you include:
- Two or three disposable diapers
- Pacifier
- Bottle of milk, juice, formula or water
- Any other special toy, blanket, etc. that your child may need for
security
- Change of clothes in case your child needs changing
Check-in and Check-out Procedure
When you arrive, a greeter will meet you to sign in your child. You
will be given a pager so you can be contacted if your child needs you.
You will also be given an ID tag that matches the tag on your child. As a safety precaution, you must present this ID tag when you return to pick up your child. Pagers should also be returned at this time. Children should be
picked up within 15 minutes following the end of worship service.
Snacks and Food Allergies
Please notify the staff if your child has food allergies or you do not wish your child to be fed nursery snacks. Please do not ask workers to feed food brought from home, except bottles or juice.
Behavior in The Nursery
Some children have a difficult time separating from parents. While it may seem best to disappear as soon as the child is distracted, we believe there should be a clear, firm good-bye. While this may be hard at first, in the long run it is the healthiest separation. We have provided one-way windows so you may view your child at any time.
Our primary goal in the nursery is to provide a safe and pleasant environment for the children. We ask that if a child is exhibiting aggressive behavior, his or her parents either
immediately remove the child from the nursery or stay with their child until it has been determined that the behavior has been corrected and is no longer a problem.
Health and Hygiene
Each week the nursery is cleaned and sanitized for your child's protection. To protect the health of your child and all the children we serve, please help us to make our classrooms free of illness. We are aware that the choice to bring your child is often difficult. Please take a conservative approach. Do not bring your child with any of the following symptoms or illnesses:
- Runny nose (not clear)
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Impetigo
- Questionable rashes
- Pinkeye (Conjunctivitis)
- Fever within the last 24 hours
Please contact Naperville Presbyterian Church at 630-961-0579 if your child contracts and exposes classes to chicken pox or other similar illnesses so we can notify other parents. |
