Safety and Security
Naperville Presbyterian Church requires that children (5th grade and under) who are placed in the care of the church have one parent on site at all times (unless otherwise specified). If there are any questions, contact the Children’s Ministries office.
Childrens' Ministry Staffing
Our Early Childhood Team is dedicated to discipling and nurturing the youngest members of our congregation. Each classroom will be staffed with at least two people who love Jesus and children, and who have been approved by Naperville Presbyterian Church. One leader in each room must be an adult. The teachers and assistants have the best interests of the children at heart. Our teacher to student ratios are:
- Infants 1:3
- Toddlers 1:4
- 2 yrs. old 1:4
- Preschool 1:7
- School Age 1:10
Children's Ministry Check-in and Check-out Procedures
Nursery - 3's
When you arrive, a greeter will meet you to sign in your child. If you have an infant or toddler you will be asked for your cell phone number so you can be texted if your child needs you. Pagers are available if you do not have a cell phone or text package. If your child is in the nursery thru the 3's class you will be given an ID tag that matches the tag on your child. As a safety precaution, you must present this ID tag when you return to pick up your child. If you have a pager it should also be returned at this time. Children should be picked up within 15 minutes following the end of worship service.
PreK - 3rd
During the education hour children need to be dropped off and picked up in their classrooms by a parent. They will not be released on their own or to older siblings.
BLAST!
Children are dismissed from the Worship Center into the Multipurpose Room before the sermon message begins. Leaders will meet them and check them into their appropriate age groups and then proceed together to their designated classroom. Parents are asked to go to their child's classroom to pick them up at the conlusion of the service. On Sunday's that communion is served, children will come back into worship after the sermon message to observe this important sacrament. On these Sunday's please be sure your children know where you are seated so they can easily find you.
Well Child Policy
Please help us make our classrooms free of illness. We are aware that the choice whether or not to bring your child is often difficult. Please take a conservative approach. Do not bring your child with any of the following symptoms or illnesses:
- Runny nose (not clear)
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Impetigo
- Questionable rashes
- Pinkeye (Conjunctivitis)
- Fever within the last 24 hour
Please contact the church office at 630-961-0579 if your child contracts and exposes classes to chicken pox or other similar illnesses so we can notify other parents and properly clean and disinfect the room.
Food Allergies
We ask that NO peanut/nut products come into the building due to the frequency of allergies among children. For a quick reference list, these products DO contain peanuts: cheese flavored Ritz Bits, President’s Choice Vanilla wafers, Granola Bars, Girl Scout Cookies, all Asian foods, all M&M/Mars candy bars, most Hershey candy.
If your child has a specific allergy that we need to be aware of, please contact the Children's Ministries Office promptly.
