The mission and
vision of Naperville Presbyterian Church
(NPC) are
accomplished through the development of a
generous, sacrificial and
disciplined approach to personal finance for all ages. This is
both a privilege and a responsibility for those that call Naperville
Presbyterian Church home. There are four main funds through which NPC receives and disburses gifts
to expand the Kingdom of God.
General Fund
The ongoing, day-to-day ministry of Naperville Presbyterian Church is
funded through contributions to the General Fund. In the fall of each
year the Session approves a budget for the coming year. This includes
expenditures in such ministry areas as Worship, Adult, Children, Youth,
Outreach/Assimilation, World Outreach, Care and Counseling. It also
includes staff expenses, building maintenance, administrative expenses
and a portion of our mortgage expenses.
World Outreach Fund
While the General Fund includes certain annual expenditures for
supporting World Outreach Ministries, there are
also opportunities for designated "over and above" giving to World
Outreach in order to fund unique mission opportunities. These
include things such as special one-time gifts to support a
short-term missions trip being made by a group of Naperville
Presbyterian Church members,
funding a church planting effort in one of our designated missions
areas (Mexico or Asia), or supporting a Chicago
area church planting effort.
Benevolence Fund
Naperville Presbyterian Church (NPC) deacons oversee the disbursement
of benevolence moneys to families in need (within and outside NPC) as
well as local agencies which are in the
care giving business.
Building Fund
Ongoing contributions to the building fund are used to pay down the
church mortgage. Our goal is to significantly reduce our debt over the
next few years in order to direct additional funds to a variety of
local, Chicago area and worldwide ministries.
For those with unique giving
needs or questions, Naperville Presbyterian Church through its association with the
Presbyterian Church in
America (PCA) Foundation, can put people in touch with
appropriate professionals who can aid in the design of estate plans,
allow people to give anonymously, allow people to give gifts of
appreciated property, and explain how people can give a tax
deductible gift now and decide later how it should be distributed.
