Mission’s Outreach 2012
How to engage people in
awareness and interaction with NPC supported missionaries
1. Develop
prayers cards for each missionary that people can pick up and
incorporate in their regular prayer time. (A prayer, promise
commitment, either daily, weekly or bi-weekly)
2. Present a
challenge “Get to know our Missionaries”, with a handout listing those
we support on the first column and the countries in which they serve on
the second. We can have a computer set-up so they can visit the World
Outreach site if they get stuck with matching up the name and location.
3. Sign-up
sheet for people to receive the WOT monthly missionary prayer requests.
4. Invite
people to join Kingdom Building prayer on Sunday mornings in the lower
level conference room at 8:00 am or the KBP group that meets during the
second service every third Sunday.
5. Have a
room with missionary pictures, write-up on what they are doing on the
mission field along with a flag of the country in which they are
serving. This could be grouped by missionaries assigned internationally,
nationally or locally.
6. Adopt a
missionary could be assigned by youth group, or family or individual to
get in contact with and establish on going communication.
Encourage interested groups or individuals to read through the outreach
partner list on the NPC website and choose a missionary whose work
interests you. Commit to checking on them once a week via their
websites’, their blogs or email them. Send birthday cards, anniversary
cards, pray for them, and look for opportunities to connect face-to-face
when the visit NPC or by visiting them in the field.
7. Invite
people to incorporate in their growth group prayer time a Kingdom
Building prayer section. Or it is possible to start a Kingdom
Building prayer group that meets for that exclusive purpose only on a
regular basis.
8. Have a
sign-up sheet for people interested in going on short-term mission trips
in 2012 which would include Haiti (February or July) Honduras (June) and
New Orleans (August).
9. Assist
mission teams by providing materials, funding medicines or by helping
with the packing.
10. Visit church plants:
a.
One Ancient Hope – Iowa City, IA
b.
Lincoln Square Church – Chicago, IL
c.
City View Church - Chicago, IL
d.
Living Hope Church - Chicago
