| Naperville Presbyterian Church encourages participation in short
term missions trips that directly relate to sharing the gospel
of Jesus Christ, church planting, and training those who will
share the gospel of Christ. Mercy ministry and Christian care
trips are important as well, as they can represent opportunities
to share the gospel. The church's primary focus for short term
missions trips is to share the gospel of Jesus.
Short term mission trips are a great way to connect with our World
Outreach partners serving in various places and ministries throughout
the world. Serving in a different culture, even for a week, provides you
with wonderful opportunities for growth, while providing needed help to
our partners. Expect to come home changed!
If you have a sincere, heart-felt desire to participate in a short
term missions trip through Naperville Presbyterian Church, but do not
have enough money to pay your own way, NPC does have some support funds
available for these needs. You may
complete and submit a
short-term mission trip support application which will be reviewed by
designated members of our
World Outreach team.
2008 NPC Missions Trips
In addition to supporting and encouraging our missionaries, a goal of
the World Outreach Team is to engage our NPC people in missions work.
One of the best ways to get involved is to be immersed in
missions work by taking a short-term missions trip. We are pleased to
report that the 2008 short-term trips are targeting a variety of
ministries across North America.
In January, Paul Veach led a group of 13 back to Trinity Christian
Community in New Orleans where they continued to support the work of our
missionary, Kevin Brown.
In March, Larry Lorimor will take 9 people to Reynosa, Mexico to join
with John and Kathy Clow and their work with deaf children through
Isaiah 55 Ministries.
In June, Brian Dennert is going with 20 high school students and
sponsors to Sacred Road Ministries in Washington State. This ministry
will be to Native Americans.
In July, NPC people will be joining with our Chicago Metro Presbytery
in sending a team to Haiti. The work for this trip is still being
finalized but will likely include dental work, construction work and
ministry to children in orphanages.
MORE INFORMATION
And, in October we will return to Lagniappe Presbyterian Church in
Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The focus of this trip will be evangelism
and construction as we work with Pastor Jean Larroux and his church,
which was literally born out of hurricane Katrina.
We continue to plan trips beyond this window and we look forward to
engaging you to a greater extent in missions work down the road.
