Ways to Serve
Our desire is to see men, women, teenagers and children using their time, talents and treasures (resources) to share and invest in the gospel. Serving can take place in our local church, our community, our nation, or around the world. Serving is the use of what God has given us, our minds, strong bodies, presence, intellect, and passion to encourage and edify (to build up) the church.
We believe this is in accordance with Philippians 2:3-4 which says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." This also follows from the example of Jesus himself in John 13, when after the meal, he took off his cloak, wrapped a towel around his waist and began washing his disciple's feet.
Serving in the church in any of the ministries listed at right is a way to engage in relationships with other people, use God's gifts to us, and to increase the our joy in participating in the work of the gospel. God has uniquely gifted and enabled each follower of Jesus to contribute to the health and function of the church, the body of Christ.
