Worship at Naperville Presbyterian Church (NPC) is one of the central
experiences that we share together. One of our core values as a church
says:
We believe that worship is central in the life of the believer.
Worship that glorifies God, both in daily life and in the regular
gathering of the church, is the natural response of the believer to the
grace of God. We desire to facilitate participatory corporate worship
experiences that give God glory, honor and praise, that open the way for
authentic encounters with Him and that bring His followers great
delight.
The central focus of our worship is God. Our worship together
provides an opportunity to weekly meet God in praise, adoration and acts
of commitment through the Bible, song, prayer and the regular observance
of the sacraments. Our worship together helps us to remember, recount,
celebrate and respond to all that God has said and done for us in His
love and grace. Our worship together is guided by the gospel message
that God has met our deepest needs, especially through His work on the
cross.
To help us in our focus on God and our authentic worship of Jesus
Christ, we have chosen a contemporary style as our musical identity. But
within this style you'll find a wide range of
expressions . . . from intimate, reflective worship with a small quiet
group of musicians, to an all-out celebration with choir and horns, to
everything in between. You'll find some of the newest music for worship
along with fresh settings of some of our oldest hymns. You'll experience
moments of silence, meditation and quiet as well as strong affirmations
through ancient creeds and prayers.
So what can you expect? While no two weeks are the same, each
week includes ample opportunity to actively participate in worship (in
particular through song), to hear what God is saying to us through His
word and to respond to Him. The details and elements may change week by
week, but come expecting to meet God! Family Worship
NPC encourages families to experience worship together on Sunday
mornings. We welcome family worship at both the 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. services. Sunday School meets during both
service times to accommodate those who want to attend Sunday School
first and then gather for family to worship, or those who prefer to
worship first and attend Sunday School during the second service. If you
are only able to join us for one service, children are welcome to attend
Sunday School while parents are in worship.
Nursery care is available
for infants and younger children.
Our worship center is wheel chair accessible. During the 8:30 a.m. service, sign language in pigeon sign is provided. Please ask an usher to guide
you to seating for interpreter services.
Gluten free bread is available for communion, and Naperville
Presbyterian Church has a nut free policy to help families who are dealing
with allergies. If you have any other specific needs, an usher will be
happy to assist.
Our hope is that by making your family as comfortable as possible, it
will allow you to focus on worshiping our Lord through song, word and
prayer.
Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name.
