Serving as Christ Served
Christ’s own service founds and fuels ours. Though he was the most high God, yet in his grace, he came low to serve: “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28). As we serve one another, we live out the rhythm of Christ’s grace—not seeking our own benefit, but serving and giving of ourselves for the benefit of others. In this way, we both build one another up and build a culture of grace. And ultimately, through serving the body of Christ, the church, we serve Christ himself.
