Every Sunday morning the members of Naperville Presbyterian Church (NPC) gather from throughout the western suburbs of Chicago to take fresh refuge in Jesus.
Central to every service is the preaching of the Word of God, as the NPC pastors take the congregation expositionally through books of the Bible. In addition to the preached Word are the vital elements of the sacraments (baptism and the Lord's Supper), worship in song, prayer, reading of Scripture, and fellowship with one another. Our worship services are marked by joy, warmth, and a love for sound doctrine.
Given the endless love of Jesus, what could be better than coming together weekly to let him love us all over again?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are Sunday services like?
We want our worship service to be both accessible and reverent. Our service lasts a little over an hour and incorporates many aspects of worship including music, prayer, confession of sin, Scripture readings, expositional preaching, and the sacraments of baptism and communion. Our musical style can be described as acoustic rock, finding value in both venerable hymns as well as contemporary praise songs.
Do I need to dress up?
Absolutely not. In fact, we are a very relaxed environment. You will find our community ranges every week from suits and dresses to jeans and flip-flops. All are welcome.
How do children participate on Sunday morning?
Children of all ages are welcome in corporate worship. During the service we offer classes for infants through five-year-olds. Six- and seven-year-old children will join their families in the worship service and have the option of dismissing to class during the sermon. Eight-year-olds and up will remain in the worship service throughout. Please note that children are grouped in classes according to their age as of September 1, 2024. (So for our purposes, a six-year-old, for example, would mean a child aged six on September 1, 2024.)
If you're visiting with us for the first time, our electronic check-in system for all ages is in the children’s ministry lobby. Please stop by a few minutes early to sign in and print security tags for any children under eight that will be attending class during the service. If you download the Church Center app and set up a profile from home, you can then check your children into class before you even leave home. A QR code will be provided for quick use at the kiosk when you arrive.
There is a designated area at the check-in kiosk for first-time visitors. Please allow extra time for important information to be gathered about each child and to locate classrooms. A volunteer will be available to assist you. Learn more about children's ministry here.
Can I participate in communion?
All who profess faith in Jesus Christ and dependence on him for eternal salvation and are a member at a gospel-believing church are welcome to take communion.
What accessibility services are available?
NPC is a fully accessible facility, and we want to make NPC as welcoming as we can to all who enter. Our accessibility services include: moveable seating in the Worship Center to accommodate wheelchairs, accessible restrooms with changing stations, elevators to every level, and wheelchairs for guest use. A live feed of the services is displayed in various spaces outside of the worship center, including lobbies and designated classrooms where parents care for children of various ages. We also offer sound packs with headphones that can be requested at the sound booth. Visit the information desk for assistance.
