ESL
Naperville Presbyterian Church offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various levels on Tuesday nights from September through April, in two semesters. New students are welcome to join in at any time during the semester.
Students are asked to purchase a textbook, but scholarships are available for those in need.
Multiple Levels of Learning English
Students who are new to the program are interviewed and placed in the appropriate class levels.
BEGINNER CLASS
The beginner class is for those who speak no English or little English (100 words or less).
INTERMEDIATE CLASS
The intermediate class is for those who know just enough English to get by.
ADVANCED CLASS
The advanced class is for those who want to improve their pronunciation and accent to feel more comfortable conversing at work, school, or in the community.
REGISTRATION AND CLASS DATES:
New students will be contacted about a placement interview to be conducted online. Students are asked to purchase their own set of textbooks for $35.
2024 Winter Semester Dates:
- January 9: Interview Night for those who have pre-registered online.
- January 16: General session for classes begins.

ESL KIDS is a program for children of ESL students. It meets at the same time as the ESL classes. The children must be 5 years old before September 1, 2023, and can be as old as 5th grade students. Registration is required. Parent or guardian must attend class and be in the building at all times. Find out more and register at the link below.
